Agile Chapter Updates 2012

(Revised March 2012)

As we move through 2012 the tremendous amount of interest in Agile practices continues to grow.  While the lists below point you to published events, please let us know if you would like to see other topics, meeting, or forums on business agility and we will work to make these suggestions a reality.

One suggestion we received was that we schedule additional Agile events either before or after existing chapter meetings to minimize travel around our already crowded Beltway.  However with sufficient interest we can certainly set up standalone Agile events at ad hoc locations.

Because the range of Agile topics has become so wide, and to help you plan your personal Agile pathway, we have grouped published events, within three main categories:

Agile Education and Start Up

Topics within this category include Agile PM courses, PMI-ACP preparation courses, and future small scale forums and meetings on the challenges of starting up and sustaining Agile thinking within your organization.

Upcoming Training:

April

Intro to Agile Methods (UMBC)

May

The Agile PMP (Loyola)

June

PMI-ACP Prep (UMBC)

Proposed Event:  Agile Professional Development Day

We have begun planning for a Baltimore PMI chapter Agile PDD sometime in September 2012.  The location and topics are still being worked out, but this will be a one-day event which will be facilitated by an Agile expert.  These types of events have been very well received around the country and are intended for both experienced and novice Agile practitioners.  Please let us know what you would be interested in learning, and where you would be willing to go (Baltimore, Columbia, Hanover, etc.) to attend this PDD.  To see an example of how a recent meeting was conducted in San Francisco, click this link:
